Video - Lilo Has a New Toy

"Whoa! This is so cool!"

[The kid has the screen right up to her eye then pulls it back to a more normal distance.]

"I could film all sorts of cool things with this! Like space mummy vampires from Mars! But first I'm gonna need some actors. Oh! I wonder if this thing can call Jumba! Then he can make me all sorts of new actors!"

[Someone was bouncing like she'd had too much sugar.]

"I'm not gonna threaten anyone's life." Probably.

"The monsters would likely threaten yours," Sephiroth replied. And he wasn't at all sure she didn't know that's what he meant.

"It's okay, I'm not scared," she reassured him unreassuringly.

[3wingedangel]

"Perhaps others would be scared for you," he pointed out.

[andstitch]

".....Why....?"

[3wingedangel]

“… Why do you think they wouldn’t be?” he frowned.

"Cause I'm a intergalactic 'Speriment hunter!"

[3wingedangel]

"You don't think they would worry regardless? My parents were concerned for me when I did dangerous things, even though they knew it was my job."

[andstitch]

She shrugged. "Mostly they argue about if I'm allowed to use the fun things to help catch the 'speriments. Like the spaceships and the car."

[3wingedangel]

"Heh. So not all of them think that's a good idea?"

[andstitch]

"Uncle Jumba thinks it is fine!" she said with a grin. "Pleakly sometimes agrees. Nani usually gets upset but then has to run to work." A heavy sigh. "She's always working..."

"Hm." Sephiroth pondered a moment, suddenly wondering a bit if at least some of the strange things Lilo did were to get attention from Nani. "I suppose she has to work to have enough money for all of you to have a house and utilities and food."

[andstitch]

"Cobra Bubbles says that our family's 'tected now. So she shouldn't hafta. I think she just likes being busy all the time..."

"... Cobra Bubbles?" That sounded like a name a child would make up. "Who is that?"

[andstitch]

"The social worker," she said, unhelpfully.

[3wingedangel]

"Ah. You need a social worker?" Hopefully not because of the trouble Lilo got into.

[andstitch]

She shrugged. "He comes around sometimes."

[3wingedangel]

"Just to check on you?" Or was it more serious than that?

[andstitch]

"And Sitch. Even though he's not banished anymore."

[3wingedangel]

"The social worker has jurisdiction over Stitch?"

[andstitch]

"Yep. He trapped the councilwoman so she trapped him," she said with a bright smile.

Sephiroth wasn’t sure he understood that comment, nor was he sure he wanted to. But he still ended up asking, “Why was the councilwoman trapped?”

[andstitch]

"Because she couldn't just blow up Earth." See? Makes perfect sense. If you had been there at the time and knew all the context...

Sephiroth gave her a blank look. “Yes, I would hope not.”

"So he trapped her."
