"Whoa! This is so cool!"

[The kid has the screen right up to her eye then pulls it back to a more normal distance.]

"I could film all sorts of cool things with this! Like space mummy vampires from Mars! But first I'm gonna need some actors. Oh! I wonder if this thing can call Jumba! Then he can make me all sorts of new actors!"

[Someone was bouncing like she'd had too much sugar.]

“Oh, I see. And there’s nothing you can do to make it more interesting?”

"Last time I tried that I got in trouble for flooding the house."

It was hard having such a boring older sister.

"Flooding the house is most certainly not a good idea," Sephiroth deadpanned.

"How else am I supposed to fight the bubble ninja pirates?"

[3wingedangel]

"You can't fight something that wouldn't entail flooding the bathtub?"

[andstitch]

"Flooding the tub is fun," she said simply.

[3wingedangel]

"I doubt it's fun to clean it up," he deadpanned.

"Thats what Nanis and Pleaklys are for."

[3wingedangel]

"You never think how they might feel having to deal with it?"

[andstitch]

"Don't hafta. They tell me. Loudy. For hoooouuuurssss..."

"Perhaps because they think you're not listening."

[andstitch]

"Like I have a choice?!"

[3wingedangel]

“You may hear their words, but do you actually pay attention to their meaning?”

[andstitch]

"It means they are old and boring and something something money."

[3wingedangel]

"Heh. Maybe when you grow up, you'll discover money actually is important." Many did, although Sephiroth had never been that interested in it.

"It's just stinky paper."

[3wingedangel]

He looked amused at that. "You don't think it has any value?"

[andstitch]

She shrugged. "You give it to people to make them do things. But I'd rather be given ice cream."

[3wingedangel]

Further amusement. "You realize it buys ice cream, don't you?"

[andstitch]

"So does asking real nice, and sometimes giving someone a pretty shell or rock."

Little kids got away with more than adults to.

"Heh. Perhaps, but not in a store. Unless your stores are different than here."

[andstitch]

"You just gotta ask nice. Or if you want fruit, you gotta ask loud mostly." Mrs. Hasegawa couldn't hear anything quieter than a yell half the time.

"Then your stores are indeed very different from almost anywhere else." Perhaps it was a little village where everyone knew each other. It sounded like it might be.

Or it was pity for the poor weird orphan kid. Especially since giving her something got her to leave, and her hanging around was often bad for business.

She looked up at him. "People here wouldn't take nice shells?"

That would be unfortunate.

“No,” he replied. “People here need money. They’re still building up their city after a disaster destroyed the old one.”
