"Whoa! This is so cool!"

[The kid has the screen right up to her eye then pulls it back to a more normal distance.]

"I could film all sorts of cool things with this! Like space mummy vampires from Mars! But first I'm gonna need some actors. Oh! I wonder if this thing can call Jumba! Then he can make me all sorts of new actors!"

[Someone was bouncing like she'd had too much sugar.]

"Have you ever actually become an ice mummy vampire?"

"No. I can't say the idea especially appeals to me."

[andstitch]

"Awwww... why not?"

[3wingedangel]

"I could turn the question around. Why do you find the idea fun?"

[andstitch]

Oh that was easy!

"Cause they're cool!" Get the pun? She was beaming. "And no one ever tells vampires when it is bed time or when they've had too much ice cream! And then I could turn into an ice bat and bite people and then they become my mummy minions and have to do whatever I tell them to do! Like play dolls with me!"

... Well, she was certainly one of the most ... unusual people he had ever met.

"... You wouldn't find it meaningless for them to play only because they were forced rather than because they wanted to?"

[andstitch]

"Um...." she thought about it. "But... it's better than not playing at all, right?"

[3wingedangel]

"For me, I didn't care to play with the other children if they didn't really care about me," he said.

[andstitch]

"But... then who would I play with?" she asked, puzzled.

[3wingedangel]

"... Your dog, perhaps?" But he supposed that wasn't enough even though this was certainly not an ordinary dog.

[andstitch]

"Stitch doesn't like to play dolls. He gets bored. And cranky." A solemn nod.

[3wingedangel]

"Hm. I see. Yes, I suppose most dogs don't enjoy that." Deadpanning.

[andstitch]

"And all the adults are always too busy."

[3wingedangel]

"That is a problem," he admits.

[andstitch]

"So I hafta play with my friends!" So there.

[3wingedangel]

"But are they even your friends if they don't want to play with you?"

[andstitch]

She... didn't like where this was going.

"Sure they are, they just don't know it yet."

[3wingedangel]

While he can't relate as much as his counterpart likely could, this still seems quite sad.

"How long have you known them?"

[andstitch]

She shrugged. "Forever."

[3wingedangel]

"And in all that time, they have never cared to be with you?" he frowned. That was similar to how it had been for him with the local children, but he hadn't been sadly desperate enough for friends to think of them as such.

[andstitch]

She glared, getting angry. "They're my friends!" They were! They were!

[3wingedangel]

He sighed. "Very well then." Obviously pursuing that line of questioning was useless. But it bothered him thinking of how badly she must be being hurt by these "friends."

[andstitch]

"Besides! It's not like you are offering to play dolls with me!" Adults never did.

[3wingedangel]

"There are other ways to spend time with people. I brought you to this ice cream shop," Sephiroth pointed out.

[andstitch]

She shrugged. "For now... but you're an adult. You're gonna say you hafta go to work and tell me to go play or give me to someone else to watch. You're not gonna play dolls or come on adventures or look for 'speriments. I'm just a kid to adults. Not someone to wanna play with." She looked down.

Her mom used to play with her. And Nani used to, before she had to be a mom. She fought a tear. She didn't wanna cry.
